Tomkin and I threw our first party together on New Year's Eve. It was fun, although it would have been more fun if I hadn't been sick with a terrible cold. (I did manage to rally, although I paid for it later, especially because I lost my voice.) Still, friends and neighbors came over to celebrate and ring in the new year with us, which was wonderful. We had way too much food, and people hardly drank anything (beer, champagne, and sparkling water were the big hits). But there was joy and merriment and laughter and kissing--really, what more could we have asked for?
