A Place of Grace

Today was Covenant Sunday in church, where the congregation made their pledges for the Capital Campaign. Pastor Trey gave a wonderful sermon about space and place, and then we all took stones from the baptismal font and began the metaphoric foundation of an altar. From initial gifts alone, people have already pledged more than $146,000. That's such a blessing because it means we can get the most vital repair work done (the roof and balcony). And it's also indicative of how passionately people feel about this church. On a personal note, I've really enjoyed working on this campaign--and I'll admit that I'm glad it's almost done!

You all must be very proud of the good work you're doing...and the church you and your community are creating and recreating each day. It sounds like a very lovely place!
