Ever since I heard this story (I think the preacher was on Oprah), I think of it often. Usually after I'm whining.
It's especially eye-opening because I'm usually whining about something so utterly petty. It makes me realize how much the whining doesn't let others see the good things and joys in my life.
Has this stopped me from whining? Alas, no. But I at least now usually realize I'm whining when I do it. Is that Step 1?
I read about this, too. Josh and I have seriously been trying not to complain as much...it's hard!! It's nice to know so many other people recognize the high "whininess factor" of us all. If a rubber bracelet can help, why not?
