Okay, so six weeks after the fact, I am finally going to blog about the wedding weekend! It officially began on Thursday, April 10, which was a cold and snowy day. I started off by getting a spray tan at Planet Beach, then got a mani-pedi at Le Nails. (Loved that the scraggly old man next to me was getting his long fingernails and toenails painted red. We compared shades.) Carrie D., Becca, Jules, Brenda, and Carrie Mc.
Meanwhile, our first guests were coming into town, and the weather was making me nervous. Brenda, my maid of honor, had arrived from Grand Forks the night before with her mom, Barb. Carrie D. and Carrie Mc. (known throughout the weekend as "The Carries") were late getting in from Chicago, but at least they made it. Phew! (Other guests had to endure even longer delays.) Tomkin's friends Scotty and Jake flew in from Boston. They kept mentioning how it had been sunny and warm when they left Massachussetts...and it was neither sunny nor warm in Minnesota.JimDog, Jake, Tomkin, and Scotty
Brenda came over first so I could give her her bubble sword, heart necklace, and other maid o' honor gifts. She, in turn, brought me goodies from Widman's, plus two platters she had made for us as wedding gifts. The Carries arrived soon after, and then Becca, Scotty, Jake, and JimDog came over, too. We broke out the Peppermintinis and chatted for a while before heading off to our respective bachelor/bachelorette events. The guys had dinner at Mancini's Char House & Lounge and then went to an Irish bar, while we ladies dined at the awesome Loring Pasta Bar and got drinks at the always-entertaining Psycho Suzi's. It was a really fun night--a great way to kick off an amazing weekend. Let It Snow! Tomkin, Scotty, Jake, and Jules
