Last night we had an all-committee meeting at church. It was exciting to talk about all the projects the various groups are envisioning for the year. We have some big plans! I recently became the chair of the new Welcoming Committee. The church is growing so much, we're actually going to start having two Sunday services (starting September 16), and our committee will help to ensure that all people who walk through Holy Covenant's door feel welcome. The church's mission statement is "Making room for all God's people, seeking justice for all God's people, finding joy with all God's people," and all the committees strive to help our congregation live out that message. When the meeting was over, Carrie, Lisa, and I walked to a great new pub nearby (Paddy Long's) and unwound after a busy day.
